Husband and Wife Team in Charlotte NC Own One of the Top 20 Science Fiction Websites

When Daryle Lockhart began building SciFi Generation.com, a science fiction blog in 2012 he had one thing in mind. He wanted to build an online space where people who love all things science could read intelligent content laid out in a simple format. There were plenty of science blogs out there but “they were way too serious”, he tells us as he leans back in his home office that is located in an upscale apartment complex in Charlotte NC, where he resides with his wife of 17 years and his 14-year-old teenager.

When you visit SciFiGeneration you’ll notice a unique design theme that offers users a clean easy navigation experience. One unique aspect about the content is a carefully curated art gallery submitted by science fiction artists from around the world that depicts various visions of science fiction and fantasy.  Science and science fiction together on one site!

“We offer our listeners a fun and engaging hour of information. Someitmes there is beer and gin. Beer and gin is science. Science is fun!”  -Margo Lockhart

The dynamic couple also hosts the bi-weekly SciFi Generation Podcast. When you download the show you’ll hear 45 -50 minutes of a fun and engaging conversation that starts with a personal introduction where Daryle and Margo talk about what is going on in their daily lives as working parents. Then they go into various topics that include: pop culture, geek culture, TV shows, books, movies, and sometimes politics as it relates to science. In the second half of the show, they explore a science topic that caught their attention in the news. The podcast landscape has never had an African American couple, in the science space having so much fun. That is why over 35 thousand people download the podcast twice a month and it is among the top 20 science fiction websites. Friendly banter, science news, and the occasional flirtation make for an enjoyable podcast!
