Civil unrest is as American as apple pie. From the Tea Party to Civil Rights Movement in this country, right or wrong –  Americans have fought for their rights. Sometimes, this results in violence.

Some Matriarchs can remember the Harlem Riots in 1943 while others can vividly remember the pain of the civil unrest of the 1960 ‘s.

Today is the 23rd anniversary of the riots in L.A. sparked by the acquittal of the police officers charged with excessive force.
